Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Rogue Predictions LLC (the “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use OpenPrefs, including the website at openprefs.ai, the web app, and the OpenPrefs API and MCP endpoints (the “Service”). It also explains your choices and rights.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Account information: your email address and password. We never store your password in readable form.
Waitlist information: if you ask for access while sign-up is invite only, your email address and when you asked.
Your preferences and lists: the settings, lists, items, names, descriptions, and notes you or your connected agents save, and the reasons given for changes.
Messages you send us: what you include when you email us.

Information created when you use the Service

Connected agents: the agents you connect, their names, the app or website they connect from, the access levels you set, and when each was connected and last used.
Activity history: a record of changes to your preferences and of what your agents read, with the time and which agent or person acted, so you can review and undo changes.
Requests and approvals: requests agents make for your approval, and your decisions.
Security and service logs: for each request to our servers, the time, the kind of request, the result, your IP address, and, when you are signed in, your account and how you signed in. We use these to keep the Service secure and working.
Credentials: sign-in sessions, API tokens, and the connections you approve for apps, which we store in a form that cannot be used to sign in if it is read.

Website analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how our website is used, such as which pages are visited, which sites refer visitors, clicks on links to other sites, form submissions (not what was entered), and the general type of browser, operating system, device, and country. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect or store personal information, and does not track you across websites or over time; it reports only aggregate statistics, so no visitor can be identified from them.

We do not collect payment information, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking tools.

2. How we use information

to provide the Service, including storing your preferences and making them available to the agents you authorize;
to create and secure your account, confirm your email address, reset your password, and send invitations you asked for;
to keep the activity history you can review and undo;
to protect the Service and its users, including detecting and preventing abuse, fraud, and security incidents;
to send you messages about your account and the Service, such as confirmations and security notices;
to maintain and improve the Service, and to fix problems;
to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. Agents you connect

OpenPrefs exists to share your preferences with the AI agents and assistants you choose. When you connect an agent, it can read or change your preferences only as far as the access levels you set allow, and you can change those levels or disconnect it at any time. Information an agent receives is then handled by the company that provides it, under that company’s own privacy policy, which we do not control. Review the privacy practices of any agent you connect.

4. How we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only:

With agents you authorize, as described above.
With service providers that host and operate the Service for us, such as for cloud hosting, data storage, email delivery, and website analytics, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only to provide their services to us.
For legal reasons, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or legal process, or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the Company, or others.
In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy.

5. Cookies

We use one strictly necessary cookie, which keeps you signed in to the web app. It is set only when you sign in, is sent only to OpenPrefs over secure connections, and expires after a short time. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies; our website analytics work without cookies, as described above.

6. Data retention

We keep your account, preferences, connected agents, and activity history for as long as your account exists.
You can erase entries from your activity history at any time, and delete your whole account from the Account page. Deleting your account permanently deletes your preferences, lists, connected agents and their tokens, requests, and activity history from our live systems immediately. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period until those backups expire.
Email confirmation, password reset, and invitation links expire after a limited time, and stop working as soon as they are used.
Waitlist entries are kept until you are invited and create your account, or until you ask us to remove them.
Security and service logs are kept for a limited period, then deleted.

7. Security

We protect your information with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, protecting passwords and credentials so they cannot be read back, keeping each account’s data separate from every other’s, and access controls for every agent. See our security page to report a vulnerability. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights and choices

You can view, change, and delete your preferences, history, and connected agents in the app at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:

access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy in a portable format;
correct inaccurate information;
delete your information;
restrict or object to certain processing;
withdraw consent where we rely on it;
lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, email contact@openprefs.ai. We may need to confirm your identity, usually by a request from your account’s email address. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to request its deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email contact@openprefs.ai with “CCPA Request” in the subject line.

Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland

We process personal information on these legal bases:

Contract: to provide the Service you signed up for, including sharing preferences with the agents you authorize;
Legitimate interests: to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and improve it, where these are not overridden by your rights;
Legal obligation: where the law requires us to process or keep information;
Consent: where you have given it, which you may withdraw at any time.

9. International transfers

OpenPrefs is operated from the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for transfers, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy here with a new “last updated” date, and for material changes we will give reasonable notice, such as by email or in the Service.
